Bishnupur Terracotta Temples
About 55 km from Durgapur, Bishnupur is known for its terracotta temples built by the Malla kings in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Raas Mancha (1600), Jor Bangla Temple, Shyam Rai Temple, and Madan Mohan Temple are the main ones, all covered in detailed mythological panels. Bishnupur is also the home of the Bishnupur Gharana of Hindustani classical music. Comfortable as a day trip from Durgapur.
