Lonavala

Lonavla, a scenic hill station in the Sahyadri range, derives its name from “lonavli,” meaning a series of caves. It is close to Karla, Bhaja, and Bedsa Caves, featuring ancient rock-cut architecture and Buddhist heritage. Visitors often pair their trip with nearby Khandala, both at 622 meters (2,041 feet) above sea level.

The lush greenery and misty mountains are especially captivating during the monsoon. Highlights include exploring Lohagad and Visapur forts and enjoying local dishes like chola bhaturas, butter chicken, and chocolate fudge. Lonavla and Khandala offer a blend of natural beauty, history, and culinary delights.
